This sounds a bit like The Streets did in their early days, at least at first. Then, once it really gets going, it gets quite rockabilly and all the more enjoyable for it.
In that sense, it’s a bit like The Clash mixed with Alabama 3 with enough of each to please each fanbase. If there’s a criticism, it is that it is perhaps just a little too fast to be quite as memorable as it might like to think that it is. It is, however, a well-constructed tune, nice, light and funky.
Although they’ll need to have a bit more variety if they wish to sustain the energy and enthusiasm on display here over the course of an album.
