This is definitely music to get you up and out of the door in the morning. Or jumping up and down like a gibbon in a club of an evening, if that’s your thing.
But then, the warning signs should start flashing up. The bass sound is really the only thing which this EP has got going for it. The rest of the sound here – a bit of vocoder, a lot of synth washes – while very competent and well played – is all just a little bit bland.
While Headman may well be a great remixer of other artists, when it comes to his own material, he tends to rely too much on the same effects for effect.
