Well-known for their love of DIY and lo-fi, this Leicestershire act have gone one step further. Fully acoustic, the trio have recorded these 13 tunes in one take, into one microphone. However, Dave Tattersall and chums have certainly not scrimped on the preparation. Folk-tinged tunes with nifty fretwork and impeccable harmonies stand out in their sparse surroundings. And the lyrics… at once whimsical, considered and introspective, Tattersall weaves his tales of ordinary life on ‘Remains’ alongside mysterious assignations on ‘Midnight Slim in Paris’. And the title? Like the lyrics, who knows, but there’s no mid-table mediocrity about this release.
