It is good to hear from Outblinker again after quite a long pause in activities (aside from the the odd cover version).
The based-in-Glasgow-but-from-everywhere-else outfit have a new track out featuring the vocals of (new to BM) Raquel Aragon, aka Aortarota and while being shorter than the average eight minute Outblinker track it packs a lot into the 3min 50secs running time.
Starting with a series of violent synth squelches, the track soon hurtles head-first into a tornado of electronic sound recalling Blanck Mass at his most deranged. Hellish vocal yells tower over electronic beats and synth washes before a sweeter lead vocal comes in, sounding a bit like Claudia Brucken trying to be heard over a helicopter taking off.
The music belches forth and you’d really fear for people’s lives in the middle of all this, in other words it’s another Outblinker classic, perhaps more commercial-sounding than some efforts, with a hummable chorus, albeit the sort of tune you’d hum while trapped in a burning building…
