Guitar bands generally like their songs to be short and snappy and Noiserv are no exception. Whatever else you can say about this track, it certainly does not outstay its welcome. It has quite a ferocity about it which grows on you the more you listen to it.
And it bears a few listens. Unlike a lot of guitar bands these days, who seem, for some inexplicable reason to equate long, boring tuneless (and more often than not, talentless) solos with virtuosity, Real pop has always been able to frame the moment it was made in, able to tell us how we feel, without either us having to tell it in the first place.
Noiserv, then, do their job very nicely. This track puts a real sparkle in the air. While the more serious music fans amongst us may go on long and hard about how much albums mean to us, how they tell our stories and so forth, people in general go for singles over albums. On the evidence here, it’s easy to see why.
