Katie Perry’s ‘Teenage Dream’ during the pre-set playlist receives as much chanting and bouncing as support act Boys Like Girls, giving the firm impression that a very young audience is out in force tonight at the O2 Academy to see Kids in Glass Houses.
They begin their set with an understated intro and frontman, Aled, standing on a raised platform facing away from the audience.
The band kick in and commence a set of well crafted, melodic, American-influenced, teen-movie-soundtrack songs much to the frantic approval of the crowd. Kegs, red plastic cups, and gross-out pranks would not be out of place at this gig.
Of course, there is certainly enough presence, talent and energy on stage to interest a wider demographic of music fans. All in all, K.I.G.H put on the type of show that will be followed by a hangover, a vague concern about tinnitus, memories of a tremendously fun night, and quite possibly a bollocking for staying out too late.
