In Search Of Fire display the kind of rich, lavish and warm guitar riffs here which are already drawing them favourable comparisons with the likes of Muse and Queen. It’s clear that they want to be seen in the same league, from the keening, yearning vocals and deep, nuanced rhythm section.
This gives the record a fantastic, fizzy edge, with which the sound positively jumps out of the stereo. They’ve also got the attitude with which to carry it off. These guys know the value of both a good vocal swoop and a good vocal sneer and employ both here in equal measure. This means that, like them, you’ll be sniggering one minute and raging the next.
