The band still has the funk and Shaun Ryder’s as brilliantly shouty as ever. It says a lot that they’ve released this track in remixed form, so as not to seem like they’re ripping fans off. It’s worked too – there’s a sleazy, very sexy sound here. This is a guaranteed floor burner and will appeal to all lovers of ‘Step On’ and so forth. The swirling, almost mystical sound, takes one right back to the heady days of 1989-90 and firmly erases the ugly memory of ‘The Boys Are Back In Town.’ The band is anything but dysfunctional here, pounding away like bastards. If proof drugs aren’t needed to make good music was ever necessary, here it is.
