This album is a real onslaught of sounds. Sludgy metal riffs, whining bluesy chords, garrulous, bludgeoning drums and an overall air of hell and damnation prevail throughout.
Someone once said that metal is the silent soundtrack of middle Britain, or words to that effect. Well, not any more. These guys are loud, they are hungry and they damned well demand to be heard. Not that one really has any other option, with a sound so full on as this one.
This is a real old-school unruly sound that is best described as a true mess wound around a steely, determined structure. Fans to date have included Glen Matlock and The Germs and the subtle influence of both slowly becomes clear to see as the record goes on. Pretension and surface flash are, thankfully, completely absent on this record.
What there is, is talent and tunes in abundance.
