Dana Gavanski

Catch (Full Time Hobby)

By • Jul 19th, 2020 • Category: Single review

Having come somewhat late to this, and aware there are other more recent tracks, BM has elected to review ‘Catch’, which may be among the first releases of this rather interesting artist.

Based in Scotland, Dana’s vocals are weird and eldritch, in a good way, along with some punchy backing instruments – there are some blues tropes there but her main drive appears to be a rare meld of Super Furry Animals and Cate Le Bon – ok now that we have got that out of the way, this is a great release – it has a great tune, and BM understands that DG is booked for The Hug and Pint next March, let us hope we will back to social non-distancing by then… (and having heard this, there will be more reviews quite soon!)
