Callel really shouldn’t be this good. All four band members are still in their teens, and some of them look as if they probably still have a pretty decent Pokemon collection stashed somewhere at home. There’s no arguing with their music, though, and the fact that they just keep getting better and better bodes well for the future. ‘Poison Arrow’ veers just a little too close to James Blunt at times, but thankfully with a far better tune and none of Blunt’s eardrum-piercing tweeness, while ‘Among Other Things’ opens like the introduction to Trumpton (sorry boys, that’s probably one for the older generation) but quickly turns into a genuinely moving acoustic masterpiece. Major labels take note: these boys are on their way up.
