The new five track EP by Californian’s Why? is a bunch of polite rhymes and rumination set to breezy pop. The kind of stuff only Pitchfork could pretend to get excited about. Opener and title track ‘Sod in the Seed’ is a vaguely interesting synthpop number, ‘For Someone’ is all bongos and xylophones and the remaining three tracks are sketches that sound like the floor cuttings from ‘Illinoise’.
