AAS alumni include White Town – remember 1997 #1 hit ‘Your Woman’? – and there are The Cuban Boys, who topped John Peel’s Festive 50 twice, including their UK top 5 soundtracking of the viral internet hit ‘Hamster Dance’.
Of course lesser, though equally exotic names appear – Voon, Stumble, Fighting Cocks, Johnny Domino…
But this excitingly eclectic collection aptly closes with co-founder MJ Hibbett’s ‘Do It Yourself’ – a music biz lesson to be learned if ever there was one.
