It may be 20 years old, but this Glasgow noise-pop combo music has stood the test of time very well.
The band released three albums in the 1990s and even brushed the Top 40 with ‘Hello Tiger’ but apart from being one for the hard core fans – documenting their sessions for John Peel and others at Radio One -this compilation also acts as a handy introduction to the band.
Recalling US slacker acts like Sonic Youth and Pavement, but with a pop sensibility, searing guitars, and laconic vocals form their trademark sound – that and an obsession of all things Japanese and sci-fi, as evinced by titles like ‘Phasers On Stun’. Could it be time for a C96 revival?
