The Twang’s Phil Etheridge says new track ‘Got No Interest’ is his favourite from forthcoming album Jewellery Quarter released on August 2.
The frontman told ITM?: “’Got No Interest’ means lots to me. It has this line in it: “My mother told me don’t let them hold you back” which really resonates with me.
“I had a lot of dick-head mates when I was younger and my mum always used to say there is a big world out there – don’t let them hold you back – which is a line written by Jon. He is a great lyricist. I’m sure there will be a lot of people who connect with that line.
The band jetted off to Spain to work on the new album but soon found themselves back in the UK. Martin Saunders added: “It didn’t work out as the producer had different ideas from us so we ended up hiring a cottage in Anglesey and bonding for a bit.
“We met with Neil Claxton (Manchester producer) who did some b-sides and it all just clicked for us on the run up to Christmas. We wrote a great record and now we are really looking forward to getting it out there.”
