Four more tracks from the GLasgow folk troubadours, which see them employ sweeping strings and soaring brass to out-Mumford the Mumfords. Instrumental ‘Twelve Year’s Truce’ is quite hey-nonny-nonny with a baroque feel, while ‘Mid-October’s catchline “My memory gets weaker as my time begins” is suitably autumnal, set to a militaristic march. ‘Gregorian Calendar’ is closest to the feel of ‘Part 1’, a wee bit Nick Drake, while ‘Banks of Home’ is big with brash cymbals and decided a pastoral feel, like the Incredible String Band’ brought right up to, er, the 21st century.
