‘Doesn’t Change A Thing’ is the debut single from London three piece the Lazarus Plot, who having already toured with established acts like the Bluetones and played live on BBC radio, look destined to have a crack at the big time. This melancholy track should at least help set them on their way, with its softly sung harmonies and reserved sound being suitably radio-friendly. As seems to be en vogue at the moment, the guitars echo via delay effects and looped drums back up the man on the kit, resulting in a sound akin to Damien Rice crooning over one of U2’s slower efforts. Not completely unpleasant, if completely inoffensive.
