You’ve got to hand it to these guys. Their quirky juxtaposed country-pop was almost consigned to history when keyboard player Jo Summers contracted meningitis. But they are back, rejuvenated, and sounding as good as ever. This is Kings Of Leon for the UK – an affably British slant on a legendary band, and it can’t help but make you smile. ‘Hotel’ holds all there is to love of 60’s care-free music such as the Beach Boys and makes it completely unique and unsullied. A genuinely fun band to listen to, prospective manic depressive’s need this kind of pick-me-up as their prescription.
