The Anomalies are a very interesting band, mixing indie, dance and hip-hop, and that’s just in ‘Kid Riot’. From the sounds of it they are capable of much more as well.
The styles in ‘Kid Riot’ don’t sound like they should mix but strangely it really works. With a guitar part reminiscent of The View accompanied by a great chorus in the indie part of the song, it moves quickly to an old school hip-hop section.
The song also captures some current views very well in the chorus, especially the line “death and killing in the streets, I’m afraid of everyone I meet.” This is a band to watch, can’t wait to hear more by them.
