Leeds 4-piece Pulled Apart By Horses rolled into Glasgow, to play a crowded and sweaty King Tut’s.
The legendary venue’s compact stage meant the band weren’t quite as active as usual, although guitarist James Brown took advantage of the setup to hang from the ceiling. And the moshpit in the smallish venue was conversely even more energetic than your ‘regular’ PABH show, being as it was populated by mainly energetic 14-17 year-olds.
The setlist included a fair amount of tunes from their eponymous debut album, perhaps surprisingly given that the tour is to promote sophomore effort Tough Love, which reached the heady heights of 67 in the UK albums chart on its release in January and which has doubtless led to the packed venue.
With this the opening leg of a massive UK and European tour, and with the band confirmed alongside Gruff Rhys to headline the Rough Beats festival in Yorkshire in June, it’s certain that this is a band who will be playing rather bigger stages soon.
