This track is an “extra” track on the re-release of Mt. Doubt’s first album ‘In Awe of Nothing’ with label Scottish Fiction having re-pressed the album to celebrate its 5th anniversary.
Recorded with producer Mark Morrow, it is a brooding and sublime slice of Americana-influenced indie, helmed by Leo Bargery’s deep and righteous vocals. Slow in pace, yet building up to various musical climaxes along the way, it has sophisticated production values yet you can almost imagine the band playing it for you in yer own living room…
There are heart-wrenching guitar lines, a resounding drum and bass combination plus some deep and resonant piano tones. The backing vocals complement Leo’s voice perfectly and there are little electronic flourishes added in to pep the song up, not really needed, as this is a modern classic.
BM also looks forward to hearing the album in full, having only caught snatches of it at the time – five long and eventful years ago…
