So Manescape are from Poland and play music, very good music indeed, rocking and rolling and hard to place, BM is all for the “him” backed by “them” because it can give good quote, but am slightly stumped by this one – still, will go for it, and love a challenge…ok, and bear with Betty on this one…”Echo and the Bunnymen wrestling with Mogwai in the Chameleons’ backyard” (not back passage, stop laughing at the back!).
You know, BM intended just to give this a couple of paragraphs but IT IS FUCKING GREAT so here we go…
First track ‘Helium’ is an epic, don’t know how long, but there is brooding visceral guitar work, clunking bass and meandering vocals which recall some of BM’s past glories (see above) – but there is something else going on here.
There are 12 tracks in all and each of them (time is running out!) is really good – BM is very impressed and wishes this group a lot of luck, because the playing, the vibe is extremely good (look to be honest, change of plan – BM wrote a lot of other stuff about the individual tracks but an Outlook failure lost the words, so BM is lost for words, but more important to get this out than to pontificate!) (hope your English is up to that word, we are so fucking lazy with language in these Isles…).
(more of this review in brackets than outside, sorry again!)
A great album, respect due.
