Electric Honey have been involved in the release of some incredible music throughout the years. Acts ranging from Belle and Sebastian to Biffy Clyro have all been involved with the label, offering a diverse and eclectic mix that has always presented the best in new music and given something for everyone.
The Stow College based label is just about to merge with John Wheatley and North Glasgow and so the final release from it, in its current format, is Harry and the Hendersons – a Glasgow band who despite only forming in 2012 have already shown great promise.
Their debut single ‘Give Me Proof’ was released back in October and offers up sweet four-part harmonies and even sweeter melodies, all with a country tinged, Americana feel.
Both ‘Give Me Proof’ and B-side, ‘New York’s Lost Island of Lepers’ provide a laid-back feel and quirky instrumentation with saxophone, trumpet and fiddles all playing their part and adding to the sometimes jaunty, always heartfelt feel.
The label are also currently working with the band on their debut album, proving that there is still much more to come from both Electric Honey and Harry and the Hendersons. Watch this space.
