American pop-punk Four Year Strong takes on the Brits with this debut LP following its release in the States late last year. Fall Out Boy and New Found Glory comparisons are not far off the mark as with the musical aggression there is still some humour and bounce to it all without it getting too dark or droning. As you would expect with this genre they have the breakdowns and tempo changes spread evenly throughout each track, but eleven tracks of the same format make listening a chore at times which is a pity because they have nailed this style well. Of all the tracks ‘Heroes Get Remembered’, ‘Legends Never Die’ and ‘Prepare to Be Digitally Manipulated’ are the most stylised without even contemplating the fantastic song titles. Top notch recording and arrangements place this high up the listenable ladder even if pop-punk is not your thang. They have a lot of competition to beat but to get to this level you cannot ignore the talent or desire that must exist.
