Re-releases are all the rage nowadays, and so, it seems, are concept albums.
Take this buoyantly daft set which celebrates its 20th year – in 2032. The time-travelling quartet trawl history with a bumper reissue, featuring the original 11 tunes which kick off with a wonky version of ‘2001: A Space Odyssey’.
Sci-fi and pop culture feature heavily in the lyrics as Star Trek/Wars references abound (none more so on the zippy ‘Patrick Stewart’s Unexpected Tie Fighter Journey’.)
The fun continues as the intrepid foursome explore space, encountering Brian May and Margaret Thatcher along the way, all to a infectiously catchy electropop soundtrack that’ll still be rocking in 16 years time.
