Rick Redbeard is someone I didn’t know about until I was given this for review, and after listening to this, I’ve been wondering where he’s been all my life!
There’s something very summery and chilled out about these songs and it makes you want to sit and sunbathe whilst listening to him. ‘Now We’re Dancing’ is all twinkly guitars and nice harmonies. Rick’s voice is very Scottish when he sings, which in my opinion makes it all the better – maybe I’m biased because I’m Scottish too, but I digress.
In sharp contrast to this is Adam Stafford’s ‘Russian Glass’, whose vocal sounds like a distorted Gary Lightbody, but still very much keeps the summery vibe of the single. Of the two tunes, this one is definitely my favourite, simply because it’s faster and makes you want to tap your toes.
Overall, Adam Stanford should be very proud of this effort, one to make you think of summer and sunshine while the rain is bashing against your window!
