Young Knives

Swarm (Gadzook)

Young Knives – were they not recently mentioned in “Landfill Indie” dispatches, BM does think she remembers them from sometime ago, but anyway… ah wait a minute, they are brothers and one of them is called “House of Lords”, it does ring a bell from back when the NME blotted ink all over your hands on a weekly basis.

Their heyday was around 2006 when the “Brats” tour was still a thing… anyway, let us not hold that or anything else against them…

This track trails a forthcoming LP and is not half bad at all, a bit generic but there are some nice bleeps, percussion, guitar and the rest… The sound is a melange of shoegaze, Britpop and a woozy form of electo-goth – and as for the lyrics, well “dinner ladies kept me in the basement” certainly conjures up something…

Does it amount to anything new? – maybe not, but a decent track nonetheless…
