This is Scottish outfit White Novels’ fourth single, and it is a real grower.
The sound appears to combine synth and guitar pop in the way that recalls early Simple Minds, a strong recommendation indeed! There is an insistent beat, a catchy tune and some excellent production – harmonies and hooks abound, and for contemporary comparisons BM would probably mention Medicine Men, again good company to be in!
Lyrics by singer Jack explore the condition of sleep paralysis, and this track cements White Novels as seriously contenders in the always crowded Next Big Thing of music in Scotland, and beyond.
The obligatory “hope to see them live sometime” is still just a hope, but BM loves this…!
