Oh Lord, this is absolutely gorgeous, gorgeous. How this band are unsigned I will never know – but this debut EP does everything that a debut should do – it sets out its stall, it delights, it entertains, it leaves you gasping at its genuinely staggering use of brass and drums. It does what an EP should; four tracks that all stand up on their merits -and makes you want to play it again the moment it has finished.
Comparisons with Broken Records are lazy – yes there are strings but this epic Edinburgh-based five piece are reaching for the stars and getting them. Unquestionably one of the best things I have heard this year. Track down a copy whatever you have to do.
