Post-Hardcore trio We’ll All Be Heroes are not just another ‘we wish we were Lost Prophets’ band. Having only been together for a year, their latest e.p. Everything Must Go is surprisingly catchy and an enticing taster of what may be to come on their debut album out in April.
The title track opens the ep and sets the tone – highly energetic, melodic tunes that you can potentially see being radio-friendly unit shifters. Lead guitarist and vocalist Dave Rutherford previously studied at the Musician’s Institute in Los Angeles, and this American influence seems evident in the music, with songs that are catchy in a Paramore or 30 Seconds to Mars kind of way and this isn’t necessarily a bad thing; it just makes the music more accessible than other recent post-hardcore acts like A Day To Remember.
‘Burn Your Bridges’ and ‘I Just Wanna Party’ are both jerky guitar filled, upbeat little ditties but it’s ep closer ‘Locked Out’ that really stands out. This track feels darker and more complex and it’s a racy final number that will make you lust for their album. With producer Matt O’Grady at the helm, who has produced acts like YouMeAtSix and The Blackout, you can be sure it will be a delight.
