Glaswegian multi-legged groove machine lift another single from current album ‘Greek Active‘, following ‘Magazines‘ and ‘Through Glass‘.
The follow-up to 2024’s ‘Bars ‘n’ Loners’ album, on their own Personal Hygiene Recordings, was recorded at Glasgow’s Green Door Studio, engineered by Sam Smith and mixed and mastered by Cara South.
Remarkably, the band is in 2025 celebrating its 25th anniversary as a live entity with – even more remarkably – six brand new studio albums, a 25-part retrospective visualised podcast series entitled ‘The Band That Time Forgot’, and a feature documentary from Glasgow filmmaker Martin Campbell.
Singer and songwriter Gregor Barclay said of this project: “We’ve been
around a long time, and we’ve not got as much to show for it as we feel we should, release-wise, so this is an effort to make up for that.
“King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard managed to drop five studio albums in 2017 and we figured we could do one better. Maybe they’ll try for seven in 2026?”
