Glasgow outfit Ubre Blanca have been a bit quiet of late (spot the John Shuttleworth reference…) so this new single is very welcome. Credited to Joel Stone and Andy Brown (though BM believes they use more people live) it’s an instrumental trip through some new nightmares…
Heavy on the synths, and referencing some New Order via 808 State beats, it certainly stirs the old dancing shoes, and is an energetic workout. At almost 8 minutes it may leave middle-aged ravers somewhat exhausted as well…
The second track (or B-side if you like) is a remix of ‘Lockstep’ by Lupo Rosso (BM has a notion of who that might be, but anyway…) which is also stirring, if a bit more ambient, and is a good reworking of the original track.
