Breaking out on their own from former band Indigo Moss, Trevor Moss and Hannah-Lou have created an excellent Folk/Americana record. Having worked with Magic Numbers, Danny Wilson and Grand Drive while being on the same label as Handsome Family and The Duke and The King you get an idea about they style of music here. It’s acoustic-led, dreamy folk with a definite Americana influence.
This is music made for a lazy morning listen but the different pitch of some of the vocal harmonies really draws you in and forces you to listen closely to all that’s going on. There’s variation from traditional folk style to guitar and harmonica work that’s almost full on country and everything in between. Hannah-Lou has vocal style that engages the listener with a large range.
Right now you can’t go wrong with anything released on the Loose Music label and Trevor Moss and Hannah-Lou certainly add to that feeling whilst clearly having their own style. Buy this and you won’t be disappointed.
