It’s nearly May which means that Tigerfest 08 is almost upon us – the annual month of music which prides itself on its exciting and eclectic music policy, and although centring on Fife, brings together a network of promoters and venues across Scotland to promote a quality lineup. This year Tigerfest focuses on the best in Scottish acts – with legends like Idlewild, former Josef K mainman Paul Haig, and Teenage Fanclub’s Norman Blake in a collaboration with The Pearlfishers’ David Scott. Plus, there’s the best in hotly-tipped talent – The Twilight Sad, Frightened Rabbit and Foxface just a few of the upcoming bands on the bill. And those are just the acts playing at the salubrious Carnegie Hall in Dunfermline – this year Tigerfest extends its reach to Aberdeen, where visiting acts such as A Hawk and a Hacksaw and Stars of the Lid appear, alongside the highly regarded Caribou. They perform in Edinburgh too, as do Vetiver and Ulrich Schnauss, while in Glasgow this year we welcome back Popup alongside perennial favourites ballboy to the 40-odd bands playing across Scotland throughout May 2008.
Since is this music? is a partner / sponsor / hanger-on for the festival, it’s inevitable that we’re plugging the shows here like no-one’s business. Including interviews and features on some of the acts appearing:
