This follows up their 2008 effort and continues their quest for pure pop, and very accomplished pure pop it is. The theme is insomnia and is explored on 12 songs.
It includes previous single ‘Sleep’ and next single ‘Hot Hot Summer’. both catchy and potential smashes, yes really.
There are some real hooks on this record, some Cure-esque strumming, some great guitar backing and beats – it could give any of the female-fronted chart acts a run for their money.
A Southampton-based answer to our own Band Called Quinn, I’d have thought a bit of luck could project this band well beyond the indie ghetto.
