Thomas Cole, the singer from New York, is back with new single ‘Pass The Baton’, and he continues to release the feel-good!
This song is featured on his newest album, titled ‘Late To Bloom’, which is out now. The album includes earlier singles, such as ‘Up In Smoke’ and ‘Cringe’, in addition to a brand new offering called, ‘This World & The Next’.
‘Pass The Baton’ begins with an electronic-pop opener, consisting of a synth lead that gradually ascends to the surface, where it is met by a drum rhythm that has us tapping our feet. Thomas does not hold anything back, getting right to the heart of the story with a vocal narrative that reflects a sense of optimism, that everyone can have a brighter future if they work for it and do what is required to achieve whatever it is in life that they desire.
There is a dance-inspired cadence which becomes omnipresent in the verse and it is easy to get lost in the sway of the rhythm. The track also has various structural shifts and it makes the journey unpredictable, leaving us guessing as to what is coming next. Also, vocally, we witness Thomas rise to new heights with a confidence which is refreshing. However, the might of the release is certainly in the message which reiterates that there is no deadline to achieving greatness, and now it is your turn to truly shine. It is a theme and patter which runs across the entirety of the ‘Late To Bloom’ album.
