Readers of a certain age will know this Massachusetts duo as one-hit wonders with 1989’s ‘Birdhouse In Your Soul’.
Younger listeners, however, will be familiar with their albums of music for children.
This is their fourth long-player, but rather than being exclusively for children, it’s more a set of daft-themed tunes and less the more serious material which they’ve continued to release in parallel since their flirtation with the charts.
So, perky electronic pop is melded with ideas to amuse youngsters of all ages – take ‘I Am Invisible’: “Did the cat turn on the dishwasher? No, I’m holding his paw”, or ‘Definition of Good’, basically a list of cool stuff like “Paper cup for a snout.”
The closer is ‘When The Kids Took Over’… not just yet, gents – us adults want to have fun too…
