There’s something slightly strange about these guys and this set. One could say it’s just good, old fashioned songwriting and guys and gals enjoying playing.
That said, however, would be to do an injustice to the sheer levels of talent. The artwork looks really cool, too, as though the sleeve is slowly melting. It makes a nice change, to these ears, to have a set which draws you in and wants you to really be a part of it.
This is a thumping, vibrant and full bodied set that has real dynamism at its heart. It’s a bit Radiohead-ish in parts, too, in the way that they sometimes just let the guitarist off the leash, just for the hell of it, to see where he goes and to show what he can do.
Unlike that band, though, these guys know how to take the piss out of themselves. This makes the disc even more fun.
