It should come as no real surprise to find out that The Low Miffs’ new single is excruciatingly artsy. If their name isn’t clue enough, then the sight of Leo Condie and pals twirling canes and attempting all sorts of on-stage hi-jinx will have been enough to warn you. What does come as a surprise is the fact that it’s a little below par. ‘Earl Grey’ has been a live favourite for some time, but here it sounds jumbled, fragmented and far too tough to listen to. Still worth buying for B-side ‘This Is The New’, but otherwise I’d wait for their next offering.
