This collaboration between two well-established Glasgow acts (The Gilhoolys and Feat of Clay) could have put them both slightly out of their respective comfort zones – but the enthusiasm of working together shines through in the music.
With some big guitar-picking riffs which channel peak Springsteen, along with Celtic acts like Dougie Maclean, it has a great melody and some optimistic though nuanced lyrics. There’s also some great male/female vocal interplay and harmonising courtesy of Anne-Marie Croal.
Released in what is still the dead of winter but looking towards sunnier times… lovely!
