“Armellodie Records are proud to introduce the Douglas Firs”. And well they should be.
This is a heartfelt album on which every note is played with soul, vigour and meaning.
There’s lightness and fun in here too – a quiet rush of acoustica would be the best way to describe the sound here; the kind of feeling you get when walking down a gently undulating hill on a summer’s day, with a light wind at your back. A gentle chill settles on one’s shoulders after the initial rush has died down, the kind of Celtic melancholy which one simply doesn’t find in music south of the border.
There is a whole new realm of feeling and emotion brought to these songs and it sounds like the guys had a blast making the album. Thankfully, this quality spills right through the speakers and into your heart in spades.
