On each side of the Fruitmarket there are balloons spelling out the number 25.
Have the Dandy Warhols really been going that long?
Wasn’t ‘Bohemian Like You’ only released 5 or 6 years ago? Or was it that long ago that they stopped using it in adverts?
The Dandy Warhols were everywhere at one point and they don’t look like they’ve aged at all – remember, this is a band that toured with Bowie.
Any roads, this is a celebration of the Dandy Warhols – it’s their party for the fans; they even have balloons that were dropped into the crowd later in the show.
All lined up in a straight line on stage – keys, drums, vocals, guitars from left to right… a rather impressive selection of guitars it must be said.
With moody stage lighting they are frequently silhouetted against the background.
They play what you’d expect them to play, how you’d expect to hear it.
But it’s something else that caught my imagination.
The invited guests! French trio Juniore.
Any band with a masked guitarist playing psychedelic indie surf-punk is going to catch my attention.
And they were great – very quirky and in places very French… like what you’d get if you blended the Mickey 9’s with La Femme.
