Bravely confessing to starting off doing Oasis and Travis covers (which make their Girls Aloud phase seem rather tame) this young Coatbridge act show maturity beyond their years. Tales of picking up girls at parties and general laddish shenanigans, they do share with the likes of The View and the Libertines a lot of ground, and musically the slightly chaotic music adds to the charm as they rattle through 2 high-energy tunes, and one Fran Healy-does-cowpunk ballad ‘Friction’ – though ‘Music Had To Lose’ with some decidedly punk rock backing in the vein of Sham 69 seems to be where their hearts lie, even if they’re too young to be Jimmy Pursey’s Scottish grandkids.
