It takes real arrogance to call your group The Amazing. It means you have real confidence in your own abilities. It means you know you’ve got something to say to the world. It means that you’ve got a voice that you think is thousands of times better than anyone else’s. Sometimes, they’re right.
Songs such as ‘Voices Sound’ and ‘First Touch Of Light’ sound like they’ve been overlooked in some long-buried sonic oven. They’ve been raging to get out and get into the world, with tsunamis of crunchy feedback and seething synth parts to prove it.
In summary then, the sound here harks back to You Love Us-era Manic Street Preachers on some tracks, then switches to wanting to be Soon by My Bloody Valentine. Not entirely successfully at any of them but all the ingredients are given a chance to sparkle.
