Pretty much as the name suggests, listening to this is letting yourself in for something mental. A total fucking cacophony, to be precise.
‘Hit me @ 30 & I’ll body pop’, begins with spooky bleeps before bursting into an electronic aural assault, which bizarrely sounds a bit like ‘Flight of the bumblebee’. It does! With retro computer game-style synths and screaming female vocals, it’s actually not a million miles away from, say, a time-of-the-month Crystal Castles. Indeed, check out Tayside Mental Health’s MySpace for the brilliantly-titled ‘Fritzl Castles’.
It’s all very dark, may mess with your head, but is actually in a weird way fun to listen to.
