Fourth album from Scottish-American singer songwriter tracing her Celtic and Native American roots in a variety of styles including, wait for it, a Cherokee version of Amazing Grace. The Native American parts leave something more interesting to listen to and they fall into the sort of Enya type style with walls of chorused voices. The less inspiring moments drop dangerously close to American honky tonk cheese with lyrics about grandmas cooking unfortunately making it past the last lyric edit. Final track Go So Far is a mix of both the Celtic drive and the Native voices. If Talitha had let grandma sieve out the cheese and leave more of this sort of thing we would have a far better end product without the cringe. Some artists just get too self indulgent for their own good and often allow the dross to suffocate their true worth and talent. Shame.
