With the release of their new single ‘Runnin’ For Your Love’, electronic indie band Spectral Display, from the Netherlands, have further enhanced their standing in the music industry.
The new song is the work of Michel Mulders, a founding group member that first took off in the 1980s. He takes a bit of a detour regarding the structure, but it’s still terrific. Moreover, the band brings in new blood by welcoming a female singer to contribute to their soundscape. It is refreshing and adds to the quality which Paul Simon provides, a singer who has consistently delivered thrilling vocals for the band throughout its history.
‘Runnin’ For Your Love’ builds up with gripping momentum as it begins, with the keys progressively climbing up the mix alongside a melody that becomes ingrained in the listener’s head from the first listen. The instrumental music playing in the background carries with it a profound sentiment, and the words contribute to the overall atmosphere of the composition. Both singers blend their tones, and their performance, together with a synth loop reverberating across the mix, invigorates the soul.
In addition, the song discusses feelings of isolation and the difficulties associated with romantic relationships. There is a feeling of heartsickness blended with the feeling one gets when longing to be with someone one cherishes deeply.
