In the first live session for is this music?, Edinburgh-based quartet Skjør perform three acoustic numbers including versions of two tracks from their recent debut EP, ‘Nature’.
Skjør began life as a duo in 2014 featuring Louise McCraw on guitar and vocals alongside Cameron Bradley on bass with Callum Le Barre and Rebecca Anderson subsequently joining on guitar and drums respectively. The band recorded and self-released their debut EP ‘Nature’ in November last year accompanied by a headline show at Edinburgh’s Electric Circus and will be appearing at the Big Discovery Festival in April.
Filmed on 19th March in a Portobello living room, this acoustic session includes two songs from the ‘Nature’ EP: ‘Norway’, the first track written by the band, and ‘Two Mountains’, a piece inspired by love letters written by Mexican painter Frida Khalo. ‘Without Hope’ and its lyric looking at loss completes the set.
