This is the first track from the debut Silver Moth album, due for release later in April.
The combo may or may not like to be described as a “supergroup” but BM will resist the temptation – let us just say that membership consists of a few quite well-kent Scottish-based (mainly) artists. Whether SM is a one-off “project” or not remains to be seen (and no, BM has not read any press releases, which may or may not give a clue about this…).
The track at over six minutes is quite lengthy, starting quite low key but building up from just voice and guitar to quite a guitar-solo/piano/percussive series of wigouts. The style is quite pastoral folk but with bite, think Fairport laced with a streak of Incredible String Band and topped off with some proggy meanderings…
Very promising and a bit like the Minor Victories project a number of years ago, another string to the bows of the various people involved (which BM has deliberately not named just so people might listen without preconceptions or prejudice)…
