Since forming in early 2016, hardcore punk band Sickones have released music of an increasingly high standard, taking the form of both EPs and singles. This has been met with merited praise from the likes of Huey Morgan, on his BBC 6 Music show, and Klaus Flouride of the Dead Kennedys.
The four-piece have now released their new single ‘Agility’, alongside new vocalist Kristie Easterbrook. The track was also recorded with the help of Kurt Fagan at the acclaimed Ranch Production House in England.
In this track, the band maintain the punchy, raw style and sound that features in previous releases; however ‘Agility’ presents itself as a great deal sharper and more powerful.
It certainly does not lack energy and implies that Sickones are truly learning to curate their own unique punk sound, whilst also allowing listeners to recognise exactly where they draw influence from – namely the punk rock and grunge scene of the 1980s and 1990s.
